Beautiful portrait of Band Stallion Picasso after play time with two of the Bachelor Stallions River and Bobby. A few months after the reference shot for this painting was taken by photographer John Wagner, Bobby stold all of Picasso's mares including his lead mare Mingo who was about to have a foal. Several days later Mingo proudly showed off her filly and Bobby accepted her into the band as if she was his own. Such is life on the range.
