Poor little Kissy was orphaned at a very young age when her mother Kira died suddenly on the range. For any foal less than two months old this would be a disaster. Fortunately Kissy had a Band Stallion Father and two brothers and an auntie mare that took very good care of her. She not only made it through that first winter but she became a beautiful young mare. She lives on the Sand Wash Basin HMA in Colorado. This is a drawing of Kissy and her oldest brother Stomper.

I'm a 30-plus year veteran artist in The Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont of Virginia. My subject matter is mostly Equine, companion animals and Country Life.
